Since Obama got elected Fox news took a sharp deep turn to the right,Fox has been a republican mouth piece but folks this is a whole new game.
According to my brother in law who works in a Fox affiliate in Los Angeles, Fox execs were not afraid of Obama but were terrified of the Obama movement.
He said they had to create some sort of movement and community for those who could never accept a Black man as president. Some insiders who were opposed to the idea and were threatened with layoffs.
The sad turn of event on Fox News is not a coincidence folks it was a well thought out strategy. They needed someone to turn up the heat on the Obama Admin.
Fox news CEO Roger Ailes came up with the strategy he suggested Hannity goes solo and he had discussions with Glenn Beck.
The LA Times reported in march
Before Glenn Beck started his new show on Fox News in January, he sat down with Roger Ailes, the network's chief executive, to make sure they were on the same page.
"I wanted to meet with Roger and tell him, 'You may not want to put me on the air. I believe we are in dire trouble, and I will never shut up,' " said the conservative radio host.
But before Beck could say anything, Ailes shared a message of his own: The country faced tough times, he said, and Fox News was one of the only news outlets willing to challenge the new administration.
"I see this as the Alamo," Ailes said, according to Beck. "If I just had somebody who was willing to sit on the other side of the camera until the last shot is fired, we'd be fine."
Some Insiders said Rupert Murdoch was a little uncomfortable the idea because he reportedly admires Obama and does not want to be labelled a racist but he was told if the strategy does not bring strong ratings or push back the tone would be dialed down.
Fox extended it ratings dominance in cable news and the strategy was considered a success.
The Fox Nation is part of this stategy it give the fringe movement a place to vent their anger under the cover of Fox News.
According to my brother in law Fox dominated cable news but since a lot of people get their news from the web they needed an alternative to liberal blogs like huffington post,Daily kos,TPM all of which were a huge success during the election.
Fox has been losing the online wars. The new site would be linked to FoxNews.com, which drew 16 million unique visitors in February, trailing MSNBC.com (41 million visitors) and CNN.com (36 million).
Fox News Senior Vice President Bill Shine said he hopes the site will be "a mix between the Huffington Post and Drudge." You'll have to forgive me for judging so quickly----after all, the site has only been up for a few hours---but, it's looking much more like the latter. Indeed, in Drudge-like fashion, one of the main functions of the political content at the site appears to be crafting inflammatory and widely misleading headlines for links to articles by news organizations whose content contradicts the Fox headline.
Here are some comments from the Fox Nation, hateful, racist and shocking.
I can't believe people still don't get what animals muslims are. They will not stop until they've killed us all and ended our way of life. I will never forget what they did to us on 9/11. It's either us or them people!!!
If Mr Obama wants a democratic presidency, why doesn't he let "The People" vote for whether or not "WE" want Muslims in this country at all! He is making a mockery of the office of "President". What a disgrace.
YOU SAY OBAMA I SAY OSAMA YOU SAY BIN LIDEN I SAY BIN BIDEN YOU SAY TERRORIST I DSAY PRESIDENT!!!!!!!! WOW , IS THERE ANYTHING HE CANT DO BESIDE RUIN ONE HECK OF A LIFE.

This was the response from fox news;
"I don't think this is going to be limited to die-hard Fox News fans," Cheatwood says. When registration begins in two months, users will be asked to abide by "core principles of tolerance, open debate, civil discourse and fair and balanced coverage of the news," with insulting comments deleted.
"If they're critical of Fox News, that's fine," Cheatwood says. "You just can't say anything that's hateful or hurtful to someone else."
yeah right.
Fox will also be hosting tea parties,Neil Cavuto will be hosting one in sacremento.
My aunt who is an Obama volunteer has been attending the preparatory meetings as a mole.
She said the six Obama volunteers attended the last meeting and reported the incident to some dem state legislators.
She came back home last called me and was crying so hard, she told be the rhetoric was shocking and voilent.
A middle aged man said "thats what we get for allowing a black muslim lead this country and blacks belong in the slums not in the white house".
She said a man representing Fox was there and he said nothing.
An Elderly woman who was also a regular at the meetngs said Obama wanted to impose Sharia law and he must be stopped.
Guess where she heard that from, where else but Fox News.
.
On fox forum,Peter Roff writes and confirms what my brother in-law said:
As was the case with the Obama campaign, the new "Tea Party Movement" is bringing people out to engage in politics, many for the first time in their lives. And, again, as was the case with the Obama presidential campaign, these activists are making liberal use of new media technologies like Twitter and Facebook to find supporters and allies, to meet each other and to establish a sense of community, a community of people who are being economically oppressed by the new burdens being placed on them by the Democrats who now are in complete control in Washington,. D.C.
My view is that while Fox enjoys strong ratings from this stategy they have succeeded in marginalizng themselves.
The Obama grassroots and netroots movement which they are trying desperately to copy was built on hope and shares values and respect.
Its also important we are aware of this growing fringe movement and not be complacent in our efforts to push the progressive agenda.
As i said earlier they don't fear Obama but they are terrifed by the support and the movement behind him.
