Over the past few weeks I have had the displeasure of hearing more and more radio commercials for Meg Whitman on the radio here in So Cal. What amazes me is the total disconnect between her ideas and reality.
In the first one (Link) she talks about needing "bold" "new" ideas and then goes on to talk about how taxes keep going up (so we should cut them) and saying we need to cut spending here in California and the usual GOP boilerplate that comes up time and time again.
That ad was eyerolling, however her latest ad is damn near offensive. It brings up the idea of welfare reform, and the details are pretty similar to what was done during the 90's. What's offensive, to my ear, is the rather odd comparison of California and NY. I am from NY, i know when someone mentions NY and welfare the idea is to put the image in the listener's mind of the stereotypical welfare queen down in Harlem, even though I was a kid in the 80's I remember that one real well.
I can only imagine what the E-Bay Empress will come out with next, suffice to say, given these ads and her "ideas" she should be down in Hollywood filming a new back to the future flick, not running for governor in this state.
UPDATE forgot to link the ad i was talking about Link
