"All Buttoned Up"
We are going to do one more quilt fundraiser before the election – this one for Jerry Brown’s campaign for Governor of California. I have set up an Act Blue page for Jerry Brown and donations of $10 or more to that page any day in October 2010 will get a chance in the drawing for the above pictured quilt. One donation per person per day will be counted.
The quilt was signed in Chicago at the second Yearly Kos, 2007. Here are the signatures:

As before, people not donating can also enter the drawing and have an equal chance at winning the quilt. To enter without donating, write an essay of 50 words or less on "Jerry Brown’s campaign, why it matters to me" and send it to communityquilts (at) yahoo (dot) com. One essay per person per day during October will get a chance. You can get creative with this – I will count haikus! Don’t write essays if you are donating, please – choose one method or the other to enter.
I feel very strongly about Jerry Brown’s campaign. I am not presently living in California but I have lived there, off and on for years. It is my home State – and it is, on its own, one of the more important economies in the world. That economy is suffering badly right now. People are suffering. The private and the public sector are suffering. California is going to need a strong, progressive hand to bring it back – and when it is back, the rest of the country is going to benefit, too. Jerry Brown is the right person for this extremely important job – no question in my mind.
The reason I am writing about this now is that we will need a team of diarists to help publicize this fundraiser -- at least one diary per day. Linkage is going to be letting the California Democratic Clubs know about the fundraiser and keeping them abreast – so I’m hoping this is going to be a very successful effort. Please comment below if you want to help -- and let me know if you would like to post in the am or pm.
