HENRY KISSINGER (R) : "Military men are 'dumb, stupid animals to be used' as pawns for foreign policy."
~Henry Kissinger in "The Final Days" written by: Carl Bernstein & Bob Woodward
Yes, and that is exactly what Sean Hannity, Fox News, Jake Tapper, and other rightwinged nutbags are doing with Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, they are of the opinion that Bergdahl is a
'dumb, stupid animals to be used' as pawns for promoting rightwinged agenda of destroying President Obama.
It took me less than 10 seconds to google the 2012 Rolling Stone article by the late Michael Hastings. It took me about another 20 minutes to read, on page 4, where Hasting reported that Bergdahl had written, in 2009, that some soldiers mowed down Afghan children with armored trucks. On that same page, Hastings wrote that Sgt. Bergdahl may have asked permission to leave the post.
In the early-morning hours of June 30th, according to soldiers in the unit, Bowe approached his team leader not long after he got off guard duty and asked his superior a simple question:
If I were to leave the base, would it cause problems if I took my sensitive equipment?
Yes, his team leader responded – if you took your rifle and night-vision goggles, that would cause problems.
~ Michael Hastings' 2012 Rolling Stone Article (Page 4)
(emphasis mine)
I notice his team leader did not say
not to leave the base -- only not to take his rifle or night-vision googles.
That tells me, Bergdahl's team leader, Evan Buetow, knew in advance Bergdahl was planning to leave and did not indicate to Michael Hastings that he feared Bergdahl was planning to "desert" the troops.
If Evan Buetow gave Bergdahl indirect and/or direct 'permission' to leave and then Bergdahl was captured as a POW then that would be one more "notorious screw up" from Evan Buetow and other team leaders that Hastings highlighted in the article.
hmmmm .....
In walk dumbass 1: Fox's Sean Hannity and
dumbass 2: CNN's Jake Tapper both frantically proclaim that Sgt. Evan Beutow has evidence that Bergdahl was seeking the Taliban out.
Sean Hannity reported that Bergdahl's team leader, Evan Buetow, has "evidence" that Bergdahl was seeking out the Taliban.
HANNITY: Another leader of Bergdahl's platoons says he has evidence seeking talks with the Taliban when he first walked away. Joining us now is Sgt. Evan Buetow -- you picked up reception that there was an English speaking American that was looking for the Taliban.
Not to be outdone by Sean Hannity's unsubstantiated BS propaganda, Jake Tapper wrote said that
Army Sgt. Evan Buetow was the team leader with Bowe Bergdahl the night Bergdahl disappeared. Within days of his disappearance, says Buetow, teams monitoring radio chatter and cell phone communications intercepted an alarming message: The American is in Yahya Khel (a village two miles away). He's looking for someone who speaks English so he can talk to the Taliban.
"I heard it straight from the interpreter's lips as he heard it over the radio," said Buetow. "There's a lot more to this story than a soldier walking away."
~ Jake Tapper's article at CNN
(emphasis mine)
Well, if, as Hastings reported in 2012, Evan Buetow actually gave permission for Bergdahl to leave base without his gun and without night-googles, then that would have been one more major fuck-up of Bergdahl's team leader that Hastings outlined in his piece -- and -- that might be cause for Buetow to trash, slander and gin-up hate against Bergdahl.
It took me about a total of 25 minutes to get to page 5 of Hasting's Rolling Stone article where he printed wiki-leaks transmissions showing Bergdahl was captured by the Taliban while Bergdahl was using the bathroom.
"I SWEAR THAT I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING YET. WHAT HAPPENED. IS THAT TRUE THAT THEY CAPTURED AN AMERICAN GUY?"
"WE WERE ATTACKING THE POST HE WAS SITTING TAKING EXPLETIVE HE HAD NO GUN WITH HIM. HE WAS TAKING EXPLETIVE, HE HAS NOT CLEANED HIS BUTT YET." "WHAT SHAME FOR THEM."
~ Michael Hastings' 2012 Rolling Stone article (page 5)
(emphasis mine)
Jake Tapper wrote
Buetow says Bergdahl was about to go on guard duty, but when a fellow soldier went to wake him, he was not in his tent. He had left behind his weapons, his bullet-proof vest, and night vision gear.
"I immediately knew, I said, 'He walked away. He walked away,'" said Buetow.
Bergdahl walked off the observation post with nothing more than a compass, a knife, water, a digital camera and a diary, according to firsthand accounts from soldiers in his platoon.
(emphasis mine)
Yeah, I'll bet he knew '
immediately' and is that because it was him, Buetow who gave Bergdahl permission to leave base without a weapon, vest or night-vision gear?
Has Sean Hannity or Jake Tapper or Fox's Richard Grenell asked if the 6 soldiers trashing Bergdahl are the soldiers who Bergdahl wrote mowed down Afghan children?
Has Hannity, Tapper or Richard Grenell bothered to read Hastings 2012 article showing Bergdahl was captured?
Has Hannity, Tapper or Grenell seen Hastings excerpts showing Bergdahl may have actually gotten permission from Sgt. Evan Buetow to leave base without his gun and without his night-vision glasses?
Are 6 soldiers trashing Bergdahl the soldiers Bergdahl said mowed down Afghan kids with trucks?
Maybe Sean Hannity can ask his good friend, convicted felon Oliver North that question?
Remember, Sean Hannity said Buetow has "evidence [Bergdahl] seeking talks with the Taliban." Wow!! "evidence!" Here is the transcript of Beutow's unsubstantiated story to Hannity:
BUETOW: Immediate days right after [him leaving] ... trying to listen to try to pinpoint something about where he would be cuz at that point we had no idea. There was interpreter right um ... up there with me in the bunker where we had this system set up and he was interpreting what was coming over the radio to the other people who were up there in the bunker with me. And -- um -- we heard (begins smiling) straight across that radio and straight through the interpreter's lips that there was an American in Yahya Khel it was just a couple of miles away from where we were at. And -- uh -- he is trying to find someone who speaks English so he can talk to the Taliban -- uh -- I mean, that's exactly what was said. That's exactly what I heard and -- um -- there's really no confusing that ... I mean -- that was definately alarming to us.
No, stupid Sean Hannity, that was not "evidence" Buetow supplied you with. It was unsubstantiated allegations that he gave you and nothing more.
But, naturally, that allegation gave Hannity reason spout even more BS hate-filled rhetoric against Bergdahl.
HANNITY: Even though he had deserted his platoon and was seeking out the enemy that was seeking to kill each and every one of them. I mean, it's... It's really outrageous to me.
In my opinion Michael Hastings 2012 report on Bergdahl going missing directly contradicts the allegations Tapper and Hannity are hate-pimping.
Afghan forces passed along intelligence that a U.S. soldier had been captured by the Taliban. By that evening, two F-15s – call sign DUDE-21 – had joined the search. A few minutes later, according to files obtained by WikiLeaks, a radio transmission intercepted by U.S. forces stated that the Taliban had captured three civilians and one U.S. soldier.
The next morning, more than 24 hours after Bowe had vanished, U.S. intelligence intercepted a conversation between two Taliban fighters:
"I SWEAR THAT I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING YET. WHAT HAPPENED. IS THAT TRUE THAT THEY CAPTURED AN AMERICAN GUY?"
"YES THEY DID. HE IS ALIVE. THERE IS NO WHERE HE CAN GO (LOL)" "IS HE STILL ALIVE?"
"YES HE IS ALIVE. BUT I DONT HAVE THE WHOLE STORY. DONT KNOW IF THEY WERE FIGHTING. ALL I KNOW IF THEY WERE FIGHTING. ALL I KNOW THAT THEY CAPTURE HIM ALIVE AND THEY ARE WITH HIM RIGHT NOW."
Then another intercept was picked up:
"CUT THE HEAD OFF"
Later that evening, a final intercept confirmed that Bowe had been captured by the Taliban, who were preparing an ambush for the search party.
"WE ARE WAITING FOR THEM."
"LOL THEY KNOW WHERE HE IS BUT THEY KEEP GOING TO WRONG AREA."
"OK SET UP THE WORK FOR THEM."
"YES WE HAVE A LOT OF IED ON THE ROAD."
"GOD WILLING WE WILL DO IT."
"WE WERE ATTACKING THE POST HE WAS SITTING TAKING EXPLETIVE HE HAD NO GUN WITH HIM. HE WAS TAKING EXPLETIVE, HE HAS NOT CLEANED HIS BUTT YET." "WHAT SHAME FOR THEM."
"YES LOOK THEY HAVE ALL AMERICANS, ANA HELICOPTERS THE PLANES ARE LOOKING FOR HIM."
"I THINK HE IS BIG SHOT THAT WHY THEY ARE LOOKING FOR HIM."
A third voice chimed in:
"CAN YOU GUYS MAKE A VIDEO OF HIM AND ANNOUNCE IT ALL OVER AFGHANISTAN THAT WE HAVE ONE OF THE AMERICANS."
"WE ALREADY HAVE A VIDEO OF HIM."
...
On July 4th, the search effort got a break: Bowe was spotted in a village in Ghazni, about 15 miles across the mountains to the west. He was wearing khaki, with a bag covering his head, and he was being driven in a black Toyota Corolla, escorted by three to five motorcycles. But by the time troops arrived to investigate, it was too late. That was the last time that Bowe would be seen until the first propaganda video, released later that month.
~ Michael Hastings' 2012 Rolling Stone article (page 5)
Now, what Evan Buetow may have heard was that the
Taliban were seeking someone who spoke English so they could video tape Bergdahl while talking to an English speaking person -- which is exactly what Hastings said was released. The Taliban released a video of Bergdahl being asked questions by an English speaking person.
It is my opinion that Sean Hannity is a low-educated, paranoid, delusional narcissist, American-hating prick who cannot wait for one of his ignorant viewers to murder somebody ... in this case ... Hannity wants Bergdahl and/or one of his family members murdered. A few months ago, Hannity could not wait to gin-up enough hate among Bundy's thugs so that a federal agent who, according to Hannity, was guilty of "over-reaching," would be shot while carrying out a Federal Court order against Cliven Bundy. Oh, and Jake Tapper is not far behind Sean Hannity.
It is also my opinion that Evan Buetow may have given Bergdahl permission to leave the base and either has forgotten that conversation or has a personal reason to mislead everyone.
