Maybe this is why Rubio hates art: "Man lunging for water: A watercolor"
The first Republican presidential contest is still nearly two years away, but as Marco Rubio
demonstrates, if you're interested in the GOP's 2016 nomination, it's never too early to start acting like a complete clown.
This time, the "issue" at hand is a personal letter of apology President Obama delivered to an art history professor after she pushed back against his statement that "folks can make a lot more potentially with skilled manufacturing or the trades than they might with an art history degree."
In his note of apology, the president acknowledged that his remark was "glib" and said that he he wasn't trying to take away from "the value of art history" which he described as one of his "favorite subjects." Instead, he said, he "was trying to encourage young people who may not be predisposed to a four year college experience to be open to technical training that can lead them to an honorable career."
I think most people can agree that the president's letter was thoughtful, especially given that he wrote it personally ... but to 2016 wannabe Marco Rubio, it was a travesty:
Pathetic Obama apology to art history prof. We do need more degrees that lead to #jobs via @POLITICO for iOS

I guess Rubio thinks that instead of apologizing, President Obama should have sent razor blades in response to the professor's letter. Except I'm pretty sure that if Obama had done that, then Rubio would have criticized him for sending art supplies at taxpayer expense. Because while Rubio might like to say he's in favor of more educational opportunities, the last thing he's interested in is actually doing anything about it, except for sending stupid tweets like the one he sent this morning.
