Folks, I'm very pleased to announce that there is a true Progressive, who believes in and backs Bernie Sanders' run for President, running for John McCain's U.S. Senate seat.
His name, some of you may know, is Lennie Clark, and this is his website.
But he's got primary competition from Ann Kirkpatrick, a conservative, establishment Democrat who has the party's backing and a lot of money. He's going to need YOUR support to challenge Kirkpatrick and McCain.
Follow me past the squiggly to learn more...
Lennie, much like Bernie, is the underdog (though I believe Bernie is now the front-runner), and I'm sure no one in the corporate media or the establishment thinks he can win.
They are wrong.
Bernie Sanders, love him or not, has shown that there is a real Progressive hunger in the country, a hunger for a radically different form of governance, something akin to Democratic Socialism. Lennie is running as a true Progressive; he has no Super PAC and he isn't taking any corporate money. He's dedicated 100% to his voters. Sound familiar?
Until recently, few would have believed a campaign like Lennie's was possible, but times are changing. Thanks to the internet and social media, together we can run a lean, winning campaign.
Want to join Lennie's revolution? He's trying to build initial momentum around a petition to call on the EPA, President Obama, and Democrats in Congress to save Oak Flat and restore clean water access to the Navajo nation. You can find that here.
And the reality of campaigning is that it costs money. His staff is 100% volunteer (including myself, full disclosure), and he's not hiring expensive polling companies and consultants to tell him what to say. That means his costs are going to be much lower than a traditional campaign, but he's still going to need a lot of money, from 100% small donors, to win. If you can afford even a few dollars, it makes a difference.
Together, we can do this. I'm just one 20-year-old web developer, but there are many more people looking to start a revolution, just like you and I.
