Most people on the left weren't excited by Obama flirting with appointing Hillary Clinton Secretary of State, but Bernie Sanders had some very strong praise for then Senator Clinton.
One of the brightest and an excellent choice, he said. It seems to me he thought very highly of her and her qualifications in 2008. Sanders worked with Clinton in the Senate, so he knew her as a colleague.
I believe this is what Sanders really thinks about Clinton, but a fierce campaign for the presidency and bad advice from the likes of Jeff Weaver, Tad Devine can get in the way. Let's hope Sanders backs off from this line of attack, because it’s obvious by his 2008 remarks he thinks very highly of her.

And the clearest opposition to the Clinton appointment comes from Obama's backers on the left of his own party, whose initial support for him was motivated in part by a distaste for the Clinton dynasty, and who now view her reemergence with some dismay.
"Sen. Clinton is one of the brightest people in Congress and she would be an excellent choice," Vermont's independent senator, Bernie Sanders, told Politico through a spokesman.
