We're going to see a rebirth of the "destroy Obamacare, blame the Democrats" game from popular vote loser Donald Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Here's McConnell on the Senate floor Tuesday morning, after his massive, humiliating failure on Trumpcare.
"I imagine many Democrats were celebrating last night. I hope they consider what they’re celebrating. The American people are hurting, they need relief, and it’s regretful that our Democratic colleagues decided early on that they did not want to engage with us seriously in the process to deliver that relief."
"It's regretful," says McConnell, that Democrats "did not want to engage with us seriously in the process," apparently forgetting that he leads the Senate majority. He also seems to be forgetting that he not only shut Democrats entirely out of the process with this bill, but also most of his own caucus, something that has not made his senators love him and want to help him.
Trump jumped in on the blame the Democrats game as well, on Twitter of course.
Sure, you go with that story guys. But it's not going to float with the public. You own this now.
So good luck with that.
Make Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump angry. Keep calling your senators at (202) 224-3121, and tell them DON’T REPEAL OBAMACARE. After the call, tell us how it went.
