The gelding of Lindsey Graham is complete. If only the operation had been quicker. Watching Donald Trump hack away at his gonads with a meringue whisk for four years kind of put me off my oats.
Politico:
Sen. Lindsey Graham on Sunday said he doesn't care if President Donald Trump told former White House counsel Don McGahn to fire special counsel Robert Mueller — the Mueller investigation is over.
"It's all theater — it doesn't matter," the South Carolina Republican told CBS "Face the Nation" host Margaret Brennan. "I don't care what he said to Don McGahn, it's what he did. The president never obstructed."
"It doesn't matter to you that the president is changing a version of events and some would say lying?" Brennan asked.
...
"If you're going to look at every president who pops off at his staff, asks them to do something that is maybe crazy, then we won't have any presidents," Graham said, claiming he had "fought hard as hell" to make sure Mueller was able to carry out his investigation unobstructed.
Uh, to be clear, not every president orders an underling to end an investigation into his own conduct and, after getting caught, orders the same guy to lie about the obstruction he attempted. And then to top it all off, lies to the American people about the whole thing. That’s pretty much unique to Suck à l’Orange. “Larry, fetch me my tan suit” is not the same as “Don, fire Bob Mueller.” It’s just not.
Oh, and he did obstruct. Even some Fox News folks think so.
Republicans desperately want to move on from the pr*sident’s criminal behavior, but they can’t. Or, rather, we can’t let them.
This is not over, Lindsey, no matter how many photos Trump has of you bathing in buttermilk with Russian oligarchs. Or whatever.
