It’s been nearly a month since I was released from the hospital after having pneumonia. I had a few visits from a nurse to check how I was doing and a couple of visits from a physical therapist to give me some exercises I can do in the house to build my strength. Both of them have discharged me from their services but left me with their phone numbers should I need them. The PT gave me some good advice for what to do at the gym as far as machines to use and to focus more on reps rather than the amount of weight (essentially more reps at a lower weight is better for me).
I have lost about 6 pounds since coming out of the hospital. I’d probably be down a few more pounds, but I have a food intake problem. Mainly too much and not the right types. It’s a problem I have yet to commit to changing because I love food. Damn Catch-22. Lol.
While I am no longer using oxygen while in the house, I still bring the portable concentrator when I go out or if I go for a walk around my house. I am hoping to get back to helping out a candidate for the NYS Assembly that got interrupted by my time in the hospital. If I do, I will be using the concentrator then as well. The only thing I don’t like about it is how heavy it is. With about 2 ½ months until my birthday, I am hoping to no longer need the concentrator by then. Wish me luck.
Didn’t something exciting happen last week? I am almost sure there was some big news out of Lower Manhattan, right? ;)
