Biden rocked the NATO press conference (and probably set a record for viewership of a NATO press conference). He was firmly in command of the facts on a wide range of issues. He made some great points about the critical nature of this election and he used this press conference to highlight some of his accomplishments that the media frequently ignores.
You cannot make a cogent argument that the man giving this press conference has dementia. He made some gaffes but they were of a type most of us do ourselves and Biden has done for decades. No, the only reason being given now for Biden to step down is electability. Guess what folks. That means you are trying to save democracy by destroying it.
We have a process called a primary. That primary chose Joe Biden to be the Democratic Nominee. The process does not come with a veto by some to not make him the nominee if his polling gets bad. There is NO valid process to remove Biden because you don’t like his chances. The only reason we got to where we are is because some people couldn’t recognize a bad night when they saw one and wanted to make this about Biden being in mental decline. If you think what we saw at the NATO presser was mental decline then I am more worried about your mental health than Biden’s.
For better or for worse the nominee WILL be Biden unless democrats pull an anti-Democratic maneuver to somehow prevent him from becoming the nominee. I will fight you every step of the way. Every person posting here to slander Biden regarding his mental fitness will certainly be getting an earful from me. Some will certainly be trolls, but others will be Democrats misguided enough to think that removing the properly elected nominee who won the primary in somehow the best way to “save democracy”.
They will drag out any number of polls which come anywhere near making their point. But the polls are meaningless here. The polls play ZERO part in nominating someone. The primary voting determines who will be our nominee. Period. END OF STORY. Anything else is to piss all over properly created process and procedure to make the process as fair as possible.
That Biden faced no serious challenge in the primary is not his fault and does not give you the right to break the process. A poll of 2000 not so randomly sampled opinions does not give you the right to break the process. If you want the Democrats to succeed at all, you will follow the process. If you want to destroy us, keep on trying to break the process. I will be treating you like the anti-democratic troll that you are.
--Update. I’m headed to bed and will read more comments in the morning. 11:24 Eastern.
— Second Update. I’ve been busy with family responsibilities and haven’t had time to wade back into the conversation. My apologies for starting a sh1tstorm and then not having the time to keep my end up. When I came back to post again I was greeted by mikeymikey’s article If the GOP had the chance to get rid of Biden & the Felon pre-election, why wouldn’t they?. At the end he reminded me of Meteor Blades recent article and wrote this:
Both sides have cogently made their points, but this has increasingly begun to appear like a battle of dominance — stalemated, with horns locked. Further discussion serves primarily to polarize us.
Only fighting for our survival will restore unity, while sparring continues to fracture it. Evaporating time is better spent on reconnaissance, coordinating resistance and fighting back. Them.
So my response to all comments directed towards me is the suggestion we read mikeymikey’s article and give it the attention it deserves.
