Good morning;
President Biden and the Democratic Party have the option of convening a nominating convention now. He would release his delegates and the party would debate the question at hand.
The argument as it stands now concerns only whether he should go, not whether there actually is anyone else who would have a better chance of winning. As some writers have pointed out, the polls showing very little change in voter opinions subsequent to the debate is evidence that voters know that Trump is traitorous fool and they know that Biden is frail and they know which one is worse.
A persistent finding of polls is the number of Republicans who reject Trump, a cohort that likely will grow with the shocking SCOTUS decision.
Using the tools of democracy to confront rather than to avoid the question of who is the best Democratic candidate would strengthen all of us.
