Last week, while starting to fully appreciate the (happily) disastrous mess that the Trump campaign has been I happened to read a story somewhere, probably right here, on how McConnell is sticking to his guns in refusing to have a hearing on Derrick Garland’s nomination. I’m thinking to myself, “So let me get this straight: you just nominated someone who clearly has no chance of winning the WH and you’re still holding onto your desperate hope that Trump will, if elected, give you the SCOTUS justice you want?” Once I got over my disbelief I started to think, it would be pretty awesome if we could, on election night, get #SorryItDidntWorkOut trending on twitter and show all of them, Trump, McConnell, Ryan, Rrrrrrreince Priebus, all of them, what idiots we all think they are. There have been days this week when I’ve thought about starting it even sooner than election night, but I didn’t want to be premature. In any case, one person alone can’t get something trending with a single tweetstorm, but here are some suggestions, in case you’re interested:
@realDonaldTrump: Well, it was a good try anyway, #SorryItDidntWorkOut.
@SenateMajLdr: I bet Merrick Garland is looking better now isn’t he? #SorryItDidntWorkOut.
@SpeakerRyan: “Did you ever have to finally decide...” #SorryItDidntWorkOut.
@SenateMajLdr: How did that plan to make Obama a one-term prez work out for you? #SorryItDidntWorkOut.
You get the idea...
