Welcome and welcome. We're now at the portion of the primary where things have seemingly gotten ridiculous. Everyone's picked their candidate in the primary, stances have been taken, and feelings have been hurt. Hell, that's life on this site. Especially during a presidential primary. Hell, there's even a name of it: Silly Season.

October 15th, 2011...big day in Orlando--the Occupy Orlando march took place. I don't have a lot to say beyond that it was an amazing thing to behold. What will follow will be a lot of pics. A lot. I got there around 1130, when the big march from the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce to City Hall and back again. I missed the big rally at the ORCC, but I got there just in time to witness people power in action. On a bike. With a satchel and two cameras--one of which I just learned was totally frelled. But the other one worked just fine. Here we go. And yes, lots of pics and videos.

I was reading ncyeve's excellent diary last night--If You're Scared...--and it got me thinking. Thinking about what could have been, what should have been...and what I see now.

I started to type a comment, but it got away from me and I ended up with something a lot longer than. The scroll bar goes a long way. I needed to vent. So here we are. I don't know what we're calling the squiggle thing, but my 'comment' is below that...

I was just watching MSNBC and there was a breaking story about a man in Florida who has been taken into custody for threatening to assassinate presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama.

He made the threats during training in Florida. His automobile was found with weaponry, body armour, etc.

I've been a part of this community of DailyKos for a little over a year. I joined because I was interested in the 2008 Election, and politics in general. As the campaign went on, I swayed between candidates Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Chris Dodd, and John Edwards.

Their stances on the issues were close to what I was concerned about, but I settled on Obama because of his consiliatory approach (which was in line with my personality and style), his new approach to politics, and the way he pursued Howard Dean's 50-State Strategy (and improved on it immensely, in ways I could never imagine).

I'm a serial lurker. I've read some great diaries on politics, the environment, the sciences, and personal antedotal stories by people from all walks of life. I made comments of all types, funny, angry, happy, sad--all range of emotions. I write what I think, stream of conscious type thoughts. I was never inspired to share a story of mine until last night, when I met a few random people at my usual neighborhood bar in downtown Orlando. So, this is my first (and maybe only) foray into writing a diary.
