First the facts, which you all know, but sure, let's read them again:
Between 2001 and 2013 over 400,000 people have been killed by a gun on US soil. In fact by the end of this year it will be more than 450,000 dead.
The NRA is forcing Americas to have guns.
Neither is the Supreme Court.
The NRA is scaring people, yes, but forcing them, no?
SCOTUS is enabling them, but forcing them? Not even close.
If Americans wanted to get rid of their guns, they could - no courts could stop them, neither could the NRA.
Guess what, they aren't.
But - and this is the rub, the NRA and SCOTUS aren't about to change their behavior. No political candidate has a serious plan for saving even 40K of the next 400,000 Americans that will be gunned down by 2030.
So, if Americans want to end gun violence, they really only have ONE realistic choice: voluntarily give up their guns.
Any other meaningful plan has NO political support, and will probably be stopped by the courts.
So -- blaming other people for your problems isn't good enough. Claiming it's OK for YOU to have guns is a joke.
If you have a gun and want gun violence to go down, you are fooling yourself. You are part of the problem. But you don' have to be.
But knowing America, everyone will just keep their own guns, blame the courts or the NRA, or mental illness, or "loopholes" or other BS...
Me? I don't own a gun, I invested my money in Hillenbrand, Inc. instead. They sell 45% of coffins in the US and guess what - business is BOOMING!
