As the 2012 Presidential election begins to take shape, the quagmire that is the Republican nomination continues the race to the bottom. And although the official field is barren, the possible contenders are beginning to be polled for any evidence of a favorite.
The new PPP poll has tested a handful of Republican hopefuls, and an interesting mark has been put on what I hope to be a continuing weekly trend: Mike Huckabee and Newt Gingrich are somehow the frontrunners for self-identified conservatives and Republicans.
