I received an email yesterday from an industry site to which I subscribe, quoting readers responses to recent articles. This one caught my eye, since e-voting has been a hot topic of discussion around here lately. At first, I thought it outrageous that they would publish such a response without rebuttal. Then I realized that they had made the site URL referenced by the indignant correspondent clickable, thereby allowing everyone to verify (or not) the claims being made...
FEEDBACK ON "10-SECOND SURVEY: IS ALL-ELECTRONIC VOTING SECURE AND RELIABLE?"
**FROM CHRIS HOLKO, via e-mail:
I expect ignorant slants in questions from the media, not an industry newsletter. Taking items out of context will skew the results of any poll, and that line about the CEO of Diebold -- that he was quoted in a GOP newsletter as saying he is "committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president next year" -- is out of context (NEWS Wire Daily, July 12).
Perhaps you should move to MOVEON.ORG; I hear they like ignorance.
BTW, I couldn't find any reference to the original poll on their site, but he describes it accurately IIRC.
