My first diary... I waited long enough, I guess. Please be gentle...
But Wisconsin is finally starting to come around for Kerry! As of 11:15 Central, Kerry is ahead by 1%, or 9,000 votes with 53% of the precincts reporting.
The big counties, Milwaukee and Dane, still have a lot of votes to be counted, and could very well put us over the top. I moved out of Wisconsin for good in 1982 but I feel pretty damn good about what's happening in my old home state.
At present, Milwaukee and Dane counties are running around 66%-34% in favor of Kerry/Edwards, who are now leading by 1%.
About 35% of the ballots remain to be counted in these strongly Democratic counties. Waukesha County seems to be going big time for the bad guys, but that is the only major county showing any strong trend to the Shrub. LaCrosse and Kenosha counties showing slight lead for the Shrub with lots of votes yet to be counted.
I would give you some statistics, but you know where to find them, probably better than I do.
So don't freak out, people. WE ARE GONNA WIN THIS THING, and the state of my birth will DO HER PART!
