Inspired by Maureen Dowd's column today, I think it would be really fun to collect letters and emails from conservative family members. Over these past months, I've seen excerpts from so many such letters, just in the dKos community alone.
Some of them, if I recall correctly, contained some real gems.
More after the jump.
As for myself, I'm in posession of a particularly nasty four-page diatribe written in response to a friendly email to my brother-in-law in Oklahoma.
My favorite part was when, after acknowledging a sympathy letter I'd written after his wife miscarried, he said he doubted he could ever have sympathy on my wife and I if she miscarried.
Also stunning was his subsequent refusal to recant even the most vengeful and hateful words, or to apologize in any meaningful way.
I personally don't see the need for posting the choicest exerpts here, but I'm not above letting someone else take the lead on this project.
This should not be an excercise in rudeness, but rather an opportunity for those of us who have had close personal and familial relationships damaged (often beyond repair) because of politics and/or religion.
And maybe catch a laugh or two along the way...
