Every time I read the newest reports from the front lines in Congressional and Senate races, I notice that the candidates that are running as Dems this time around look absolutely fantastic. Many are young, telegenic, passionate, and have firm grasps of the issues. Never in my six short cycles that I've covered (started with Clinton's campaign when I was seven) have there been so many great people running for office.
There are even some people here on the dKos that we know are running for Congress.
So then, I put the question to you: What has it that has triggered so many fantastic candiates to run for office?
Was it T-Mac and the Democratic National Committee?
Was it the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC)?
Was it the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC)?
Perhaps it was up, the Merry Band o' Kossacks, that spurred so many great men and women to run for office.
Then again, perhaps the Bush Administration and ABB rancor have pushed people to run who might otherwise not have, if only to keep power out of the hands of these blubbering fools currently in power.
Or perhaps some combination of those above? Or none?
Or am I just dreaming, and the batch of new recruits this cycle isn't much different than have come before?
Take the poll.
