One Year Ago Today Howard Dean formally announced his presidential campaign.
We have come along way and have had our massive ups and downs, but what we have built in the past year has transcended a simple presidental campaign. It has become a full fleged movement for change.
As the one year marker for the formal announcement of Dean's campaign I think it would be a good time to look at the current status of Dean's organization, how far we have come, and what the future may hold for our movement. Will our movement be significantly stronger this time next year? If Kerry wins what happens to our organization? And, what do we do if the unthinkable happens and Bush wins?
Regardless, I think it is important to regonize how far we have come and I really believe we should be proud of ourselves and what we accomplished. We have helped to change the entire tone of our party and today Bush is on the ropes for the first real time in his presidency.
We have changed how the Democratic Party raises money which will have massive effects in keeping us in some kind of financial equality with the Republicans without totally selling our soul to big business. We have alot to be proud of and we have just begun to fight.
