dKos is valuable because it's a buffer between dOcean and dLand and it has nice beaches.
OK, bad earth science humor, but while attending a training session before a GOTV effort I realized that my time spent here at Obsession Central gave me a huge and readily available source of information and ideas.
During Q&A, many of the questions folks asked indicated a great desire to defeat Bush, but not a great knowledge of the KE positions and policy proposals. There are so many newbies. I kept wanting to stick up my hand and say "Ooh, ooh! Ask me!"
After the event, I returned to the campaign HQ for the after action and a nice sandwich. I was noodling around at their computer bank and a staffer asked what I was doing; I told her I was reporting in to the blog. She didn't know dKos, so I filled her in, as I did several of my canvassing partners.
It became obvious to me that a perusal of dKos, KE and other sites before an event would provide valuable info to the street sweepers. Would it be a good idea to propose this to the leaders of the various GOTV efforts, or would it be presumptive? I don't want to offend anyone, but it seems obvious to me.
