I was just trolling the net for stuff about Jerry Patterson, the Texas Lands Commissioner, gun nut, and Vietnam veteran. He was the stooge georgie dispatched today to meet hero Max Cleland at the end of georgie's driveway (and lets stop calling it a ranch and start calling it a
personal gated community cause its no damn ranch).
So I find this editorial he wrote in June of 2000.
It's a justification for the Confederancy and its symbols, but buried within the text is this statement:
I have pride in my service as a U.S. Marine in Vietnam, but I am embarrassed at the atrocities that occurred at My Lai. I still wear a small Vietnam service pin on my lapel, knowing that not everything done in Vietnam is worthy of pride
.
And then, in the letter he tried to give to Max Cleland today representing the sentiments of pro-Bush vets, was this:
We're proud of our service in Vietnam. We served honorably in Vietnam and we were deeply hurt and offended by your comments when you came home. You can't have it both ways.
Even georgie's surrogates don't know how they feel.
