This is a letter to the editor I just sent to the San Francisco Chronicle:
Editor:
Once again, John McCain informed us that we are taking the war on terror
to the enemy and away from the streets of New York, Washington D.C.,
Chicago or Los Angeles. I find this statement perplexing. Is their some
sort of moral superiority in killing thousands of innocent men, women and
children caught in the crossfire of this conflict but unlucky enough not
to live on American streets? Does God's Own Party ever ask themselves
what Jesus would think?
Sincerely,
...
Is anyone else uncomfortable with this? You have to wonder what the people we are "liberating" think when they hear crap like "we'd rather you die than us". I think statements like this reflect badly on us as a people and a country.
