Here in Denver, our esteemed President is visiting today, so we gotta know CO. really is in the mix. Damn, Cheneys been here more then a few times in the past 6 mts. or so to confirm that .
So I'm just a little giddy that the Rocky Mountain News decided to publish my letter to the editor today, 3-4 weeks after I sent it, and two weeks after they called to confirm and suggest they might publish it. I had sort of given up.
And I still think our greatest strength is to call attention to Bush's lack of leadership, and to me nothing does that more then watching those "7 Pet Goat Minutes".
So I just gotta share
-Bush on 9/11 just like a deer in the headlights
One could cite many examples of George Bush's failure of leadership, but in the end I will cite only one. Leading up to that one failure is a lifetime of minimal accomplishment till his rise in politics in Texas, and all of his accomplishments have been a direct result of being a rich white boy from Connecticut.
The only reason Bush ever got into Yale was because of Yale's affirmative action for its alumni. The only reason he was ever in the National Guard was through his father's pull, and even then it was something he apparently could not fulfill. On and on it goes in his life. Now he is president, and America's and Americans' best interests are being sold off to his corporate sponsors.
Nothing is more disturbing however and shows more clearly this man's utter lack of leadership than watching him on 9/11, sitting for five minutes after being told our country was under attack, looking like a deer in the headlights. If you don't believe me, you need to watch the clip for yourself. The look on his face is unmistakable - it is a look of fear and indecisiveness, a look unbecoming a president of the United States, and leader of the free world.
This man who four years ago proclaimed himself a uniter should be sent packing back to Crawford for his politically inspired agenda to keep our nation and people divided, and for his and his administration's arrogance that has alienated so many of our allies and lowered our esteem in the eyes of many people in the world._
