Republican Gov. George Pataki hand pick chairman of New York GOP, Steven Minarik, compares Democratic party to attorney convicted of aiding terrorists.
Steven Minarik
Minarik, elected state GOP chairman in November with Pataki's blessing, touched off a firestorm Monday when he said newly elected Democratic National Chairman Howard Dean "is the personification of today's national Democratic Party _ elite, radical, out-of-control, and sadly out-of-touch with ordinary Americans."
"The Democrats simply have refused to learn the lessons of the past two election cycles, and now they can be accurately called the party of Barbara Boxer, Lynne Stewart and Howard Dean," Minarik added.
Herman Farrell , New York Democratic Chairmen, answer back to his clown.
Minarik's Democratic counterpart -- Herman Farrell -- says New York Republicans have lost seats in both Houses of the Legislature in Albany and in the state's Washington delegation in the last decade.
Farrell says that should reduce the value anyone places on Minarik's political expertise.
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton top adviser Howard Wolfson, tells Steven Minarik the next time you make a idiotic comment don't be a coward say it to his face.
"Don't accuse the 5.5 million Democrats in this state of treason if you hope to win our votes," Wolfson told the New York Post. "And, if you make that mistake again, you best be prepared to make it to my face, because we love this country much to much to allow you to ever question our patriotism."
Steven Minarik is not backing down from his comments.
Even before Pataki and Paterson spoke out, Minarik had issued a statement earlier Tuesday indicating he had no intention of backing away from what he had said the day before and calling Democratic complaints "just the latest `Dean scream."'
"The Democrats would be wise to take action on members like Lynne Stewart, rather than attacking me," Minarik said in his statement Tuesday. "Maybe then, the Democratic Party can start to regain some credibility with the American people."
I guess Steven is trying set himself up for job at FOX, after his party future losses to Sen. Clinton in the Senate race and Governorship.
