Senator Sam Brownback has concluded a visit to Manchester, NH where he spoke to religious conservatives at a forum sponsored by the Cornerstone Policy Research Center, a NH-based conservative policy thinktank (supposedly the website is
www.nhcornerstone.org, but it seems to be down at the moment)
AP Story
Sam Brownback was a player in the Schiavo case, which he brought up during his speech:
He drew applause when he said the Terri Schiavo case brought the right-to-life debate to the foreground.
Among other things he discussed were Stem Cell Research:
"I support stem cell research," he said, "adult stem cell research - because it is working. We have 58 different areas of cures using adult or core blood stem cell research."
...
Brownback said "the other side chooses to use the stem cell debate to say it's all about embryonic stem cells."
Clearly, he's setting himself up as a candidate for the pro-lifers in '08, although he has has said he's made no formal decision to run.
