CSPAN is currently airing the DNC Southern Caucus meeting. All of the candidates have already given their opening remarks. Nothing too remarkable.
Roemer said he wouldn't move the party further to the right, nor further to the left. Fowler attempted to demonstrate his knowledge of the South by referencing collard greens / cornbread and the "redneck rivera"
First question (some guy from Michigan), why did we lose the Presidential race?
Roemer: First, national security. Second, values.
Dean: We lost on national security because we let the President FRAME the issues. And, we didn't do a good job letting people know where we stood.
I'll continue to update this thread both in the diary and in the comments.
UPDATE:
Wellington Webb: We should be framing the debate. We're not going to let Bush dance on FDR's grave by privatizing social security.
Leland: We conceded too many states. In the states we were focusing on, we brought in too many outsiders.
Fowler: First, Kerry couldn't reassure Americans that he would protect their families better than Bush. Second, we keep conceding. The South. Rocky Mountain. Religious voters. Rural voters. We're running out of voters.
Frost: Conceding too many states. National security.
Rosenberg: National security. Values -- We can't run away from the things we've been fighting for our entire lives.
