EPIC 2015 traces an unbroken history of information delivery from the invention of the WWW to the collapse of the NY Times which, after losing a Supreme Court copyright case to Google in 2011, becomes a "print-only newsletter for the elite and elderly."
By then Google has merged with Amazon to become Googlezon, and in 2014 it creates EPIC (Evolving Personalized Information Construct), its own categorization system that filters and delivers news. Users contribute news bits, and they are rewarded with a small slice of Google's advertising revenue depending on the popularity of their contribution. Information is delivered to users based on consumption habits, demographics, interests and even interests of their friends. an evolved version of the Google Grid universal platform, robotically scavenging a global range of information to produce infinitely personalized summaries of the world for each citizen.
