Paul Hackett has recieved much praise for being in touch with the netroots, but DHinMI's unanswered
question has got me thinking.
More below...
Take a look at Paul's comments in his latest diary.

How can you best convey the need for real change in Washington?
Just keep telling the truth.
There is nothing more stimulating than a case where everything goes against you. -- Sherlock Holmes

I call it as I see it (3.94 / 36)
This is not about me, this is about Ohio and America and getting it right and setting it back on track.
I've been saying all day to media that I don't give a damn what title I have, it is about setting this country back on track. Not for you and me, but for our kids and grandkids.
It is about doing right by our country so we can do right by our kids and grandkids.
I'm motivated to fix what these clowns have let become broken.
If you're happy with the status quo, you can have Sherrod Brown or Mike DeWine. If you're interested in the transformation, revitalization and change this country needs then come and join me.
I'm going to tell it straight for some more media interviews, but I'll stop back by tonight.

Recruitment...
Paul (3.58 / 12)
Brown just said that you have 2 or 3 positions on the Iraq war on http://www.washingtonpost.com/thefix.html.
I think he is trying to swift boat you already. You only have one position and you fought in it.
I think Brown is playing hardball politics so you better watch out. He is using your picture on his ad to funnel money from the netroots to the general election fund thus possibly away from you. Did you okay him to use your picture?
by Drdemocrat on Mon Oct 24, 2005 at 04:13:28 PM EST
he made no contact about the picture (3.87 / 32)
To the best of my recollection, I haven't had multiple positions. This is a move by a typical career politician.
I'm glad Sherrod agrees that I'll have more success on the net raising money than him which is why he's using my picture. I'm flattered that the big 20 year career politician realizes I a more recognizable.
Iraq has been an objective failure. It is time to bring the troops home.

Whether or not you like the answer, at least he's answering a question.
Good luck and Godspeed! (4.00 / 7)
As a recently-detached Navy officer still living overseas, I look forward with great hope for your future election. Ohio can use some hope and confidence in its state-wide government!

when are you coming back to the states? (4.00 / 9)
We're going to need your help, with 'we' being the United States, not Hackett for Senate?

It was nice to have met you at the Batavia HQ back in July/August. I enjoyed working with the campaign crew.

More of the same... This one was just a tip jar.
I can't help but feel that Paul's answers don't go very far towards having a real conversation with the neetroots.
Well, what do you think?
