Toronto's Cloak Newswire, a decidedly nutty and unreliable source, just reported (at www.cloakanddagger.de, the same folks who believe that the Iraq war is causing hurricanes) that three more sealed indictments were delivered by Fitzgerald today. While my first response is to laugh and dismiss it, we did hear from sources earlier in the week that Fitzgerald was to seek
1-5 indictments, and that the number would be at the higher end of that.
The concept of a sealed indictment, as I understand it, is that it would be filed without public knowledge and proceedings could take place without public knowledge. This makes sense for a matter of national security.
This also makes sense if the anonymous star added to the CIA's Wall of Honor in 2003 actually does correspond to a CIA operative killed in hostile territory as a result of this leak.
What do you think?
