Folks, I'm as glad as the next Democrat that Harry Reid decided to hold a secret congressional session and make the Republicans accountable for the Lies to America, but you know, he did not just grow a pair of balls.
Harry is a man and probably has had a set of balls since birth. His having balls in no way gave him any power to call this session. If having balls is required to be courageous and fight for what you believe in, then you are omitting every female on the planet from being courageous.
Believe it or not, it is a sexist, misogynist remark. It is not just figurative, it is not just language, it is a overt statement that implies only men are able to fight and do what needs to be done.
It is a remark that keeps us in male presidents. It is a remark that plays up to patriarchy as daddy who will take care of us all. It is based on the thinking that women should not be allowed to lead.
It takes courage to do what Harry did, something we all have been begging Democrats to do for some time now. It did not have anything to do with his reproductive organs.
If a woman did what Harry did, no she would not have grown a pair either and no that would not be a compliment, just as "just like one of the boys" said to a woman is not a compliment. You see, women don't need to be compared to men to be considered good.
Harry has courage, conviction, strength of character and my respect. What he has in his pants has nothing to do with that.
