One of my activities is with our local Kutztown (PA) Area Democratic Club. This group formed in August 2004 after an appearnace here by our Dear Lieder George W. Bush. It's a very activist group with an amazing collection of members who are very committed to change.
Several members of the Club
, especially Dennis and Sylvia Baylor, have developed a special 2006 calendar featuring our favorite U.S. Senator, Rick Santorum. This calendar is available at the KADC website. You can access the KADC online store here.
Sample pictures below the fold....
Here are some of the pictures featured in the calendar:

Recently Santorum was in Kutztown for a small media event. Eight members of the Club were there to welcome him. The Club is very active in grassroots campaigning, holding events, phone banking, canvassing, working at the polls, and volunteering on campaigns. Funds raised from the online store, including the calendar, are going to be used in this year's Senate race against Santorum. These will enable the Club to campaign actively to defeat Santorum.
Santorum is beginning to separate himself from Bush after the collapse of both their poll numbers. Support for this Republican Culture of Corruption and Cronyism is collapsing. Bush came to Pennsylvania Friday and Santorum decided it was best for his political future to be elsewhere. This is the first time in memory that the Junior Senator was unable, or unwilling, to alter his schedule so to be seen at the President's side.
Bush has become radioactive to Republicans seeking re-election. Add in pRick Santorum and you get a scene that's becoming increasingly unpleasant to Pennsylvania voters. Santorum is now also attempting to put some distance between himself and the plummeting President. He's criticizing Bush's Iraq policy and admitting failures of policy.
According to an Associated Press report:
PHILADELPHIA -- Sen. Rick Santorum took a rare swing Friday at President Bush, saying the war in Iraq has been less than optimal and that some blame for that lies with the White House.
Santorum, a conservative Republican and usually a strong Bush ally, said the unpopularity of the war should be shared between the White House and the media.
"Certainly, mistakes were made," Santorum said.
"But that's a criticism you can make of every conflict."
The Kutztown Area Democratic Club 2006 Santorum Calendar will be a great way to follow this election all year. While at the KADC store also check our t-shirts, mugs, other interesting items. All proceeds support the Club's efforts. The most interesting item is the Pennsylvania Dutch Bush shirt. It says, in Pennsylvania Dutch: "I'm sorry my President is an idiot. I didn't vote for him."
