After months of unsubstantiated rumors, that Bush has resumed drinking, the Associated Press documents this momentus occasion:
"Bush Drinks Mare's Milk, Avoids Camels"
"He drank fermented mare's milk -- sometimes likened to a mix of warm beer and buttermilk -- sipped tea and nibbled cheese curd, a White House official said. Reporters were kept outside and could not watch."

Well, its not much and it can easily be justified as an act of diplomacy. But I was under the impression that Bush didn't drink at all, and at the very least its an image that the White House tries to maintain. For someone who has given up drinking entirely (and may have battled with some form of alcoholism), even a single sip is significant.
Anyone else notice this? And yes, this is a pretty stupid first diary. UPDATE: Apperently fermented horse milk is known as "kumiss" or "airak".
