This is a discussion concerning President Bush's Pearl Harbor Day speech this morning. He began mentioning September 11th in the opening paragraph, as usual.
After comparing Pearl harbor and September 11th, he again linked that tragedy with the War in Iraq then said, "like generations before us, we will prevail."
It did not take long for Bush to segue from speaking about September 11th and Iraq. He does this constantly, creating, fostering, and extending the FALSE belief that Iraq was responsible for 9/11. No wonder there are Americans who still believe this fallacy.
How long are we going to allow this liar to lie about something so monstrous? When are we going to slam this man with his own words, show how he is using 9/11 to justify his war against Iraq? When will the DNC begin running a commercial exposing this re-writing of history?

I urge everyone at Kos to contact the DNC and ask they spend some Democracy Bonds to insure the continuation of democracy. Simply take the opening of this speech showing his linking of the two tragedies and match it with his earlier denial that Saddam attacked us, the 9/11 Commission denial of any connection, and run it in prime time.
We must illustrate how Bush has tried to re-write his own history of lies about why we started this war. Make a commercial showing all his "explanations and justifications."
I'm shocked at the number of Americans who continue to believe Bush. Blind Faith as John Dean once referred to it. I have my own theory about this. I think many Americans don't want to believe their President, especially the one they voted for, betrayed their trust and took their country to war on a pack of lies. The truth is so monstrous they prefer to deny its existence.
They also don't want to believe they were so gullible, so busy with their own lives they didn't take time to examine the evidence and facts for themselves.
I can't put all the blame for this on those citizens, though they probably deserve contempt for voting on issues they neglected to research. These people elected people to do these tasks for them and trusted them to do so. Trusted them to do the honorable thing, to uphold American values and policies.
They were betrayed by this cabal. As they awaken to the awful truth they are understandably angry. Many continue to refuse to awaken to the terrible facts, however.
It's time to concentrate an effort to expose the remainder of the country to these truths. No one but the DNC is capable of executing such a campaign, though. They have the resources to do it. By coupling it with a definitive alternative plan for winning the war on terror we can turn this tide of anger to support for our 2006 candidates.
