I felt covered in shit when I heard about the cloture vote. We all know that this bankruptcy bill is appalling, and we can't stop it now. We can however get people on the record. Let's not forget H.R. 685, the House version of the bill.
Can we organize to call our representatives to vote against this? I think it's particularly important that we find out where our Democratic representatives stand on this.
Those who vote against it and live in tough districts should be rewarded, and we should consider running primary candidates against those Democrats who vote for it. But in order to do that we need a record of where people stand, and we need to tell them that their symbolic votes matter.
Call or write your Democratic representative today and report back what s/he says!
I apologize for the brevity. This is less a diary and more a call to action and a forum for reporting back.
