Under the banner for the Republican National Convention Blog, NYC 2004 reads the following:
The successor to politics will be propaganda. Propaganda, not in the sense of a message or ideology, but as the impact of the whole technology of the times.*

A recent diary by AnonymousArmy, White House vs. CBS

further discusses RegenerationMan's diary about the possible White House involvement in the CBS forged TANG documents and the Mapes smear:

AnonymousArmy notes that there is an item in the White House access log showing Jimmy Guckert entering and leaving the White House on 09/10/04, a date where Bush, Scotty and the gaggle are on Airforce One.
A question is posited: "Who did Gannon meet?"
Here we step back to a point early in the investigation of Jimmy Guckert by SusanG and crew, where the domain name registration for some of Guckert's sites were changed from "
J. Daniels" to "
I. Christian" (around 1/31). One question about the domain name change would be "why bother?" J. Daniels? It was obviously not Jimmy Guckerts name, nor Jeff Gannon so why change it? Perhaps to remove the reference to a friend? A friend or companion named "Daniels"? And why change it to "I. Christian"? A slip of the tongue perhaps? It is interesting to note that
Daniel Bartlett, Counselor to the President, worked for Karen Hughes (implicated by Bill Burkett in the Bush TANG document cleansing) and also worked for Karl
Christian Rove.
Dan Bartlett's current job description includes the following:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/government/bartlett-bio.html
Dan Bartlett serves President George W. Bush as Counselor to the President. In this capacity, Bartlett
is responsible for all aspects of President Bush's strategic communications planning and the formulation of policy
and implementation of the President's agenda. He also
oversees the White House Press Office and the Offices of Communications, Media Affairs, and Speechwriting.
Prior to that, he was Assistant to the President for Communications and White House Communications Director. Before being named Communications Director, he was Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy to then Counselor to the President, Karen Hughes.
Before joining the Bush Administration, Dan Bartlett served as a senior spokesman and Director of Rapid Response for the Bush for President campaign in Austin, Texas. He has served President Bush since 1993, working on both successful campaigns for Governor of Texas. From 1994 to 1998, Bartlett worked in the Governor's Office as Deputy to the Policy Director. During the 1998 re-election campaign, he served as Issues Director. Before joining President Bush, Mr. Bartlett worked for Karl Rove and Company, an Austin-based political consulting firm. He has served the President for over ten years.

When Jimmy Guckert "emailed" Hannity a "Rapid Response" later on 9-10:
HANNITY: Now, Jeff Gannon, who is a terrific Washington bureau chief and White House correspondent for Talon News, actually shot me an e-mail today, and he's about to break a story in an exclusive about these CBS documents. [The Sean Hannity Show, 9/10/04]
We have a glimpse into the workings of the rapid response communications, media coordination and propaganda by Rove's echo chamber coterie. How the machine works, the hierarchy.
This echo chamber coterie appears to include Sean Hannity, Howie Kurtz, Powerline, Rush Limbaugh, Drudge, certain members of the Editorial Board of the WSJ, GOPUSA a.k.a. Bobby Eberle, and on, and on... Jimmy Guckert "emails" Hannity, Rush and Howie listen to Sean who drops Drudge a line who writes up the lead for the WSJ spin...
With a little more digging and cross referencing we might be able to identify, in detail, how "J. Daniels" works the spin, the disinformation and the propaganda campaigns. Who talks to whom, when. And maybe even why Howie is so infatuated with Powerline and John Hinderaker?
