(Please excuse the tech deficit, I'm doing the best I can.)
I was just reading a TO Will Pitt piece about the apocalypse we are in the middle of (apocalypse being an uncovering, an unveiling), and in which we are participants. (He redefines histrionics for me. We need more histrionics like he puts out.)
Anyway, he was citing one of the myriad of incriminating facts, this one being the British DSM-related briefing paper about Toady Blair not wanting to put their bases in Cyprus and Diego Garcia at risk of an American invasion: thus their need to polish the American Turd.
But it was the reference to Diego Garcia that got my attention. (Do I put "more after the flip here, or is it automatic?)
Anyway, more after the flip.
See, I've been thinking that Diego Garcia (and Cyprus too, now that they mention it) would make a great Euro-led, world focus for grassroots demonstrations. A focus is what is needed to mobilize people (and face it, we are all well beyond shocked), and focusing on Diego Garcia would turn the world's eyes toward, perhaps not a brontosaurus, but at least a screeching Pterodactyl in the parlor.
Diego Garcia is where we disappear people to. We are, of course, assured by the kind folks who do the disappearing that these are all evil men (no boys, mentally disabled, frail old men, or women, of this we can be certain) who would have destroyed America by now if we hadn't created a small hell and put them there. Diego Garcia is a man-made hell (and as such, "small" means nothing there), because it is a place offlimits to any outside help. It is isolation at the mercy of your enemy, or someone who thinks you look like his enemy, or someone who got you there by accident or guile. That is hell, indeed.
I am an American, and I want to know how far my government has gone in the hell-making field, so I can properly call it to account. I'm just wondering where to put them in the Pantheon of Human Error, and hoping they can be installed soon.
Let's focus on Diego Garcia: Americans, because we have - right now - to stop the crimes being done - right now - in our names; Brits, because you have enabled us, you gave us the keys to the Juggernaught (not to mention we are commiting atrocites on your soil); and the rest of the world because we need help standing down this drunken, careening behemoth.
Let's focus on Diego Garcia: because it's what they don't want us to see.
