The neocons have created a theatre of the absurd and Americans are the cast. Like Godot, we keep waiting. Time passes. We wait. The absurdity to do in America and its citizens continues all around us. I want to do something.
I want to campaign to take back the pork allocated to big business, wealthy citizens, and selfish politicians who want re-election or a name for themselves. I am sick of the greed and the lack of caring.
Why do we need to spend $250 million to build a bridge from the Alaskan mainland to an island with fifty people who have always quite handily used a ferry? Let's rebuild the bridges in New Orleans. Let's return the pork to a table for Americans who need and not for the few who don't. There's more.
Can we campaign? Can we lobby our representatives? Can we write letters to the editor? Can we create a media blitz? Surely, the Gulf must have everyone's attention by now. Do the neocons and our politicians have absolutely no heart anymore? Would they all sell us and America down the river for a dollar for themselves?
There was more pork in the recent highway bill than any other fiscal legislation in history. Our representatives know what is absurd and what isn't. Give the pork back. Send it to the Gulf states.
The energy bill included $1.5 billion to oil companies. Why? Why? Why? Exxon is now the most profitable company in the world. Oil companies are rolling in money. Take the money and repair the oil and gas rigs in the Gulf. Spend it there so that higher fuel prices are not passed on to Americans.
And where the hell is the $8.8 billion lost in Iraq; tossed away by Haliburton and others? Why is their no investigation? Is this not absurd? Imagine what $8.8 billion could do in the Gulf states.
And, to think, that a war we fight because of lies has taken money from FEMA. Where is FEMA in the Gulf States? Where is the money that should have taken care of levee construction and levee upgrading in New Orleans? Take back the tax cuts from the wealthiest few in this country. Take care of FEMA and New Orleans.
Absurdities of cruelty and selfishness with absolutely zero caring for anyone but themselves are what we have as representatives in Washington.
What do you think? Can we bring the money back? Can we put the money where it belongs? Can we do this?
