President George W. Bush, in countless campaign appearances and news conferences, has repeated this mantra: "My job is to protect the American people." Well, George, that is a very important part of your job.

"...my job is to protect the American people. It's my most important job, most important assignment I have. And I will continue to do that, regardless of the season."

In 2001, FEMA predicted that the three most dangerous threats to the country were: a massive earthquake in San Francisco, a terrorist attack in New York City, and a major hurricane hitting New Orleans.
That was FOUR years ago, after George W. Bush was sworn in to office. What has happened since? Two of these scenarios have transpired, both on Bush's watch.
"My job is to protect the American people from further harm."

What did George W. Bush do at the time these two attacks hit America? Remember the twenty minutes he spent reading "My Pet Goat" after Andrew card informed him that "America is under attack?"
This time Bush went to strum a guitar and joke with senior citizens about destroying Social Security. Two days after the storm ravaged Mississppi, Alabama and Louisiana, he finally flew back to the White House to deal with the problem.
" "Let me just say it again: Had I known there was going to be an attack on America, I would have moved mountains to stop the attack. I would have done everything I can," he said. "My job is to protect the American people."

George W. Bush: according to his own standards, has failed America. He has failed to protect us. People were drowning in New Orleans while he strummed a guitar. Babies died waiting for water that has yet to arrive, 72 hours+ after the storm.
"My job is to protect America." Your grade is in Mr. President, and the American people are now speaking. Loudly.
