Four polls featured here today:
Three usually right-leaning pollsters and one "apolitical" (yes, it's Gallup).
The most recent is Diageo/Hotline:
Diageo/Hotline Poll conducted by Financial Dynamics. May 18-21
Favorable Unfavorable
5/18-21/06 37% 61%
2/16-19/06 45% 52%
Nothing surprising about these figures - an 8% plunge in favorability and a 9% rise in unfavorability. Altogether a 17% shift since the last time this pollster sampled the American public in mid February. Click here for the complete Diageo/Hotline poll with analysis (Adobe Acrobat .pdf file).

The
Rasmussen Reports web site has a brand-new look and feel, but their daily Bush job approval rating tells the same old story: Bush hasn't broken past that 40% favorability number since May 10 - with a dip down to 36% along the way. Rasmussen Reports also provides the "strongly disapprove" figure of 44%. Every two weeks Rasmussen also releases the
Election 2006 Congressional Ballot. This latest yields "Following the President's Monday night speech, Democrats enjoy a 15-point advantage on the Generic Congressional Ballot. A Rasmussen Reports national opinion survey of 1,000 Likely Voters found that 48% would vote for the Democrat in their district if the election were held today. Just 33% would vote for the Republican." A five-point jump in advantage for Democrats since the last poll.
The latest Zogby poll of Bush's job performance has Bush's "Excellent" rating as a single digit for the first time ever: 9%. Bush's "Poor" rating is at the highest Zogby has ever polled: 44%.
The usually non-partisan Gallup Poll released their analysis today of support/non-support by key demographic groups. The headline tells the story: "Liberal, Moderate Republicans Show Large Drop in Support for Bush. Approval rating has dropped 19 points among this group since January"
