... then check out this ad being run by a group called Majority Action against freshman Rep. Thelma Drake (R) in Virginia's 2nd congressional district. It is on stem cell research which, along with minimum wage increases, are the two issues Democrats nationwide can beat over the heads of Republicans.
For background, Virginia Beach Commissioner or Revenue Phil Kellam (D) is running to unseat Rep. Thelma Drake (R) in a fairly red southern Virginia district (more partisan (R) than Francine Busby's CA-50) which includes parts of Norfolk, the largest naval base in the world. Nevertheless, Kellam is ahead in virtually every poll (at least due in part that Virginia Beach, his home base, makes up almost the entire district), and Chris Bowers at MyDD rates it a pure toss-up as does Novak. This ad should help Kellam recover some lost ground on the since debunked story of him beating a woman in a drunken stupor.
According to their website, the ad is also being run in the Indiana 2nd against Rep. Chris Chocola (R), Pennsylvania 10th against Rep. Don Sherwood (R), and New York 25th against Rep. Jim Walsh (R).
