Okay, I'm not saying we should pay $100,000 for people to rig the election. But offering a $100,000 reward for each and every occurance of major election fraud that leads to an arrest and conviction might put a damper on the plans of the right.
The Republicans are great at setting up strawmen to attack Democrats.
It's time for the Democrats to play the same game.
The DNC needs to release a set of talking points for the remaining three weeks setting up a strawman around planned vote manipulation by conservatives.
It's simple, just state the following:
- Rumors have been going around that conservatives will try to steal the congressional elections because they're now afraid that the polls show they won't get the votes legally
- There's no confirmation about any involvement by any particular member of the Republican party - but we're concerned about independent elements among conservatives who may feel it is their duty to, possibly spurred on by right wing radio pundits, to do anything possible to keep Republicans in power, including stealing elections
- The DNC will offer a $100,000 reward to anyone who can offer information regarding stolen votes or vote manipulation that leads to an arrest and conviction - we're hoping that some honest people out there will blow the whistle on vote fraud to help protect our voting system and our democracy
- The DNC is warning about the following:
- Any last minute unauthorized software patches loaded on electronic voting machines done up to three months prior to the election
- Any breeches in security around access to electronic voting machines, such as letting machines be taken home by poll workers
- Memory Cards from voting machines removed for vote tallying without the supervision of election officials
- Large discrepencies between exit polls and final results
- Limitations on outside observers or the press from verifying the vote tally process as it happens - such as from mysterious terrorist warnings that lock down election offices
We need to get this message into the minds of voters now.
Maybe this just ends up as a hollow strawman, or maybe the "rumors" will be true.
If voter fraud can be uncovered, I'm sure the Democratic party will be happy to fork over the money.
