As polls are showing, Democrats are energized for this election, and independents have shifted to them. Barring the dreaded October Surprise, the Republican strategy will probably be to scare independents back to the right, and work like hell to get the base out. Already we see the ads they are producing: Taxes and Terrorism. Not promising to be terribly effective, but that last-minute GOTV machine they have could make a substantial impact.
There is a strategy to counter that last effort. I hope some who are in positions to influence campaigns have thought through it and are taking advantage of it.
Come on in to see more.
The Republican base is discouraged – the Foley scandal, corruption, two-faced lying, and failures have taken their toll on the sheeple. We need to dive into this breach by
producing ads that discourage the Republican base from turning out.
We need to stress the Republicans' pandering lies to the religious right, the uncontrolled pork barrel spending to fiscal conservatives, the erosion of individual rights to libertarians, the Medicare fiasco to seniors, and the failure of the Iraq diversion to defeat terrorism to all.
We need to tell them to abstain from voting at this election to show their discontent with the Republican machine. Something to the effect of “look at what they promised to do, and what they did instead – do you really want to vote for these people? Why bother?”
As a matter of fact, “Why Bother?” would be a good theme for this campaign. Let’s see some creativity out there all you ad-meisters!
