In what alternative universe would a two-term incumbent president -- the day before Election Day -- stump for a senatorial candidate failing so miserably in the polls that she's become a national laughingstock?
That would be the one you're living in today. President George W. Bush, blown off today by Florida Republican gubenatorial candidate Charlie Crist in the most public manner possible, will have to content himself hailing the talents of Katherine Harris the day before her senatorial candidacy slams into earth with the force of an asteroid.
The President and Harris will be joined -- that's right -- by none other than Jebby, the weeping wonder of 2000. Together, these three will stand before Florida and the nation as co-conspirators in the original sin of the millenium.

Bush ends his final campaign swing on an anticlimactic note, dropping in on the Florida Panhandle, rural northwest Arkansas and his home state of Texas. One of the main candidates he's scheduled to stump for today, Florida gubernatorial nominee Charlie Crist, let it be known on Sunday he isn't even planning to show up for the rally at the Pensacola Civic Center. Crist campaign officials explained that he's doing fine in the Panhandle and they figured he could better spend his time elsewhere. He's planning to cover the peninsula in a seven-city blitz. Not surprisingly, Crist's opponent, Rep. Jim Davis, immediately claimed the state's attorney general is ducking his president.
Appearing with the president instead will be his brother, Gov. Jeb Bush, and Senate candidate Katherine Harris - whom White House strategists regarded as so hapless that they tried to ease her out of the race last summer.
There is nothing more important to George W. Bush than LOYALTY. Here, we see that trait in its fullest display, for what other reason could there possible be for the president to rally to Katherine Harris, the weakest senatorial candidate fielded by the GOP this year?
When the photo is taken of the president, his brother and Harris today, file it your 2000 stolen election folder. Bush obviously owes this woman something.
