This is some more political art that I did. Joe is
rumored/claimed to have used about $400 000 in "petty cash" during the primary to buy votes. Apparently it's also called "street money" and $20 is a standard amount to give someone "hey use this for a taxi to get to the polls" kind of thing.
Anyway, I thought Joe deserved to have his own special money for this, so here it is (click for full size).
More (including what you need to print it) on the flip...
Summary of updates: It's legal. If you want to print it, you can do so legally providing it's no larger than 5 x 2 inches in size. See updates inside.
Update: This is not "defacing money". See this ... and this ... these laws are about drawing on or modifying physical money, not digital images of it.
Update 2: If you print it you must do so at a substantially different size from real money or you might get in trouble...
Update 3: OK, based on this product: Educational Insights® "Let's Pretend" Play Money Coins & Bills, printing it at maximum size of 5x2 inches is legal. (Since they wouldn't be selling ultra realistic sets feature the most realistic reproductions of American money permitted by law if it weren't)
The dollar bill is from crescent city coint club and the liberhead is from derenegade, found them both using google images, and the head kind of looked like the head of Jackson that I was replacing.
How I did it ... The hardest part was getting the writing "CONNECTICUT FOR LIEBERMAN" to look right. I had to do a fair bit of back-and-forth in photoshop for that. The font is Engravers MT. Because the front/light writing actually isn't one colour, it varies from orange to green. So I actually did the shadow and then use the front/light bit to punch a transparent hole in the shadow. Then I did another front/light bit of text in black, and used "wind" effect on it, and then set the layer to darken I think, and messed with transparency and Hue/Saturation until it looked OK. It's not perfect though, compared to the original "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" it's a bit lighter.
The next hardest part was integrating joe's suit jacket into the jacket from Jackson, because Joe's didn't have the lines (I used the crosshatch filter for the jacket and the clone brush to fix the line between them). Extensive use of clone brush to remove writing that was on there so I could change it to something new. The really free OCR-A font for "VOTE JOE ONLY". Futura for the "Joe" label on the jacket. Lots of use of replace colour and Hue/Saturation to fix the colours.
If you want to print some Joe funny money, you can use this as the back (click for full size). it's totally unmodified from the source (crescent city coint club) Be sure to print it at a substantially different size from real money! Based on this product: Educational Insights® "Let's Pretend" Play Money Coins & Bills, printing it at maximum size of 5x2 inches is legal.
