Some small children are quite incorrigible and stubborn to boot. On the part of children this might even be quite cute, though trying on one's patience.
But when it comes to the President of the most powerful nation on the surface of the planet incorrigibility and stubborness are no longer cute, for they reach the level of the criminal.
On the front of todays NYT Bush is reported as saying:
RIGA, Latvia, Nov. 28 — Dismissing suggestions that Iraq has deteriorated into a civil war, President Bush on Tuesday blamed Al Qaeda for the rising tide of sectarian violence there and said he would press the Iraqi prime minister to lay out a strategy for stopping the killings when the two meet in Jordan this week.
There he goes again, the stubborn boy king. There is no civil war in Iraq and the rising tide of sectarian violence is due to Al Qaeda. Is there no hope for the man? How can he fail to see what everyone does so clearly: there is a civil war in Iraq and while Al Qaeda might be fometing things, it's primarily a Sunni-Shia matter. It all goes back to the original confidence trick: the conflation of the (largely bogus) "war on terror" with the illegal, immoral and entirely unnecessary invasion and occupation of Iraq.
Finally, the old shift-blamer is going to bite the ass off Al-Maliki for not having a strategy... Meanwhile the War Prez (aka Codpiece-In-Chief), the great decider, seems to forget that this entire mess is largely due to his lack of strategy, a remarkably culpable state of affairs given that he has some 150,000 men in Iraq.
Really, there will be no solution in Iraq until this monumental dope is impeached, removed from office, and put on trial for war crimes.
