We dirty John Stewart Watchin' Amurka Hatin' hippies betta watch out... the Queen of Rightwing Comedy Julia Gorin (yeah, I know. Who?) has a new wingnut friendly comedy show to fight back against the dangerous and unAmerican "liberal" trends feverishly screwing up comedy and satire for the right. (Like actually calling bullshit, honestly poking fun at the lies, strawmen, and dishonest horseflop of the powerful, and actually being funny.)
Behold the Latest Episode of TAS!: The America Show, Episode 2 Electric Buggaboo
You just knew it was going to happen sooner or later, didn't you? That the rightwing would go off trying their hand at 'makin' with t' jokes'. That the Ann Coulter wing of the GOP would eventually crack under the strain of the Daily Show and the Steven Colbert Report and, well, try to "balance" the "liberal bias" that is (of course) built-in to all things actually funny.
Well, this is it.
The first morsels of what we have to look forward to.
This is (allegedly) one of the best talents that the rightwing has to offer up for comedy besides watching Cavuto play it straight on Fox.
Worse, this is the best that one of the best of rightwing comedy has to offer up as "teh funny".
I have to say, I was overjoyed at how bad this is. It was about as much fun watching this mess as it was watching Fox News try to pretend that nothing actually happened on election night in November.
If The America Show is the best they can do, and Julia Gorin is one of the "top" wingnut comics out there, I can't wait to see Fox News' Daily Show ripoff next.
And, just in case the Freepers (or whoever) want to say that "liberals are just bashing this to bash this because its conservative", there is this:
The makers of the show know that 'The America Show' is not funny either.
How do I know this?
This is the best part!
The poster of this "comedy gold" known as TalentGoldmine (?!??) has been thoroughly white-washing the feedback. Completely modding out (so far) any criticism from the commentary at YouTube that isn't glowing with praises and kudos for its brilliance. The censorship got so bad, and is so quick, that a real comedian who tried to post some feedback was driven to record his own YouTube video that couldn't be censored out to respond to 'the ladies' with some honest feedback for them.
A Real Comedian's Anguished Plea to the makers of The America Show
What's sad (and honestly amusing as hell) is that this guy, who is more funny just trying to be gentle and to the point, is clearly doing this out of real pity and not snark.
I can imagine that what's next is that 'The America Show' will be made a members only thing, flagged like they do for adult content so they can acutally control who views it.
