The greed of Goodyear is a symptom stemming from decades of continually worsening trade policies coupled with increasing corporate corruption and selfishness. We are living in an era that is nearly the polar opposite of Socialism in that our government is almost controlled by corporations. My dad has worked at the Goodyear plant in Topeka, KS all of his life and my grandfather is a Goodyear retiree. Virtually all of his joints are worn out because of the years of hard work and sacrifice for Goodyear. Now, Goodyear is trying to break their promise of retiree health care that was promised to him, that he worked his whole life for. Why should he lose his health care so that Goodyear's execs can get more multi-million dollar bonuses? Is it any coincidence that Wal-Mart is now selling Goodyear tires? It looks like Wal-Mart and Goodyear are like two peas in a pod choosing the priority of excessive profit over fairness.
