OK...I admit it.
On occassion I listen to Hannity's radio show. It usually occurs after I drop my daughter off at gymnastics, and I listen during the 7-10 minute drive home. Please forgive me, but listening allows me the opportunity to prepare for the inevitable re-iteration of his absurd talking points around town the next day. Gotta be prepared, ya know.
Well, today he said something that caught my attention.
Hannity was hyping an interview, later in the program, of Joe Lieberman....an interview where Hannity was threatening to endorse Lieberman in his upcoming Senate race!
Some notable quotes from the interview on the flip:
Hannity:I need to know, do you want my endorsement?
Lieberman: Well, it's good that you asked me in private like this [yuck, yuck]. I appreciate your friendship and I appreciate your support.
Hannity: If you want me to do it, then I'll do it.
Lieberman than requested that Hannity endorse his primary challenger, in a joking manner.
Lieberman said he was taking the primary race seriously. Good idea, Joe.
The interview then focused on the FEMA hearings today, the Cartoons and world reaction, and finally the domestic spy program.
In regards to the spy program Lieberman said he "totally" wants those programs to go on, but that need to work with the administration on getting court approval to do so.
In regards to the Democratic Party, Hannity asked him if he feared that the Dems have been co-opted by the hard left (Hey,is that us????) Lieberman stated that if the dems want power, they need to move back to the center and have to come up with a positive program that the American people want to vote for, particularly on security...or we won't be a majority party again.
In conclusion, it looks like an official Hannity endorsement did not happen. Too bad...that would have been a nice little gift for his primary challenger, Ned Lamont
